Man Utd staff ‘raise eyebrows’ over antics from Joel Glazer’s favourite player
Manchester United are said to be prepared to push Anthony Martial towards the exit door this summer despite Joel Glazer’s admiration for the Frenchman. The inconsistent forward could be set to embark on a new challenge this summer when he could move onto pastures new after eight years of service at Old Trafford.
Martial arrived from AS Monaco in the summer of 2015 and was an instant hit amongst supporters, scoring an iconic debut goal against arch-rivals Liverpool.
Yet it would prove to be downhill from there, despite several spells of promise including his 17-goal showing during the 2019/20 campaign behind closed doors.
According to The Sun, United will now try to shift Martial at the end of the season in a bid to recoup some funds to spend on their squad.
It’s claimed there have been eyebrows raised amongst staff members when Martial has opted to wear gloves during mild weather.

Martial’s character has seemingly been thrown into question because of those antics while supporters continue to raise frustrations with the attacker’s body language.
Back in 2020, The Evening Standard revealed that Martial was actually one of Joel Glazer’s favourite players at the club.
The American is alleged to have blocked several transfer approaches for the France international, who he wanted to keep at all costs.
But Glazer’s faith in Martial has now been rewarded given he has managed just nine Premier League goals in the last three seasons combined.

It’s been another underwhelming season from the 27-year-old in truth having scored just five goals in 19 Premier League matches.
Despite the departure of Cristiano Ronaldo, Martial has still found it hard to establish himself as the club’s first-choice centre-forward.
While he has suffered with injuries in fairness, Wout Weghorst enjoyed a prolonged run of games in attack upon arrival at Old Trafford in January.
Martial’s current deal is due to run until the summer of 2024 meaning this could be the perfect time to cash in.
Problematically for the Red Devils though, his stock has fallen dramatically in the past few seasons.
During the second half of last season, Martial struggled out in Spain on loan at Sevilla before returning to Old Trafford.
Now there is little to no interest in the player, who would surely jump at the chance to turn over a new leaf this summer.
United are expected to spend big money on a new No.9 this summer with Harry Kane the main target of interest.
Yet Victor Osimhen and Dusan Vlahovic have also entered United’s thinking in case Tottenham do not wish to sell Kane.
The Red Devils would also like to sign a younger striker for the future, too.
Atalanta’s Rasmus Hojlund is one of the main targets of interest while Brighton’s Evan Ferguson is also admired.
