Manchester United have completed a deal for highly-rated Watford teenager Harry Amass, who will join the club’s academy.
The 16-year-old defender has been linked with a move to Old Trafford since the end of the season, and has now put pen to paper on a reported four-year deal with the club.
The Hornets were desperate to hang on to their teenage prodigy and had offered him a professional contract beyond his scholarship deal.
Amass has been at Vicarage Road since he was nine years old and made the first team squad for their 2-0 FA Cup Third Round defeat to Reading last season, where he was an unused sub.
At Watford Amass already appeared for both the club’s U18 and U21 squads, including impressive performances against Everton and Arsenal in last season’s FA Youth Cup.

The talented teen will now link-up with United’s youth academy, with hopes he will eventually transition into the first-team picture.
Amass has already featured for England’s U15 side, making his debut in December, 2021 aged 14, and is currently part of the England U16 set-up.
He is also expected to be part of the England U17 squad that takes part in the FIFA U17 World Cup later this year.
Amass joins new first-team recruits Mason Mount and Andre Onana at Old Trafford this summer, with the club on the verge of completing a deal for Danish striker Rasmus Hojlund.
United are also keen to complete a deal for Fiorentina’s Moroccan midfielder Sofyan Amrabat.
