Man Utd say they are "working hard" as they respond to fans’ protests at Glazers
Manchester United have responded to protests against the Glazers by saying they are "working hard".
Thousands of supporters marched to Old Trafford before the Premier League clash with Norwich to call for the American family to sell the club. They blocked the Munich Tunnel ahead of kick-off and remained outside the ground for the first 17 minutes of the game, a minute for every year since the owners took over.
Following United's 3-2 victory, a club spokesperson commented on the pre-match scenes. They said: "We are working hard to create the conditions for renewed success on the pitch, while strengthening our engagement with fans.
"We respect the right of fans to voice their opinions peacefully and we will continue to listen to them, with the aim of working together to get the club back to where we all want it to be: competing for trophies."
The protest, organised by ground The 1958, was carried out peacefully. A section of supporters could however be heard chanting "Joel Glazer's gonna die".

It was estimated between 3,500 and 5,000 fans took part, which was more than the organisers had hoped for. "It's been amazing," their own spokesperson told the Daily Mail.
"The fans have had enough. Supporters have had enough of social media manipulation. We are going to continue to do this disruption. All the Glazers know about is sponsorship.
"But we have a team together to look at finance. We are Man United supporters, that's all we are, but we have people at different levels."
On the pitch United raced into a two-nil as Cristiano Ronaldo first tapped and then headed home. Norwich drew level with goals either side of half-time, but Ronaldo completed his hat-trick and gave his side the win with a free-kick goal.
