Man Utd receive Borussia Dortmund boost in this year’s Jadon Sancho transfer chase
Man Utd: Solskjaer gives transfer update ahead of Deadline Day
Manchester United have reportedly been handed a boost in their transfer pursuit of Jadon Sancho. The Borussia Dortmund winger was Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s top target during the summer transfer window, but the Premier League giants refused to stump up the £108million asking price.
It looked as United might have dodged a bullet after the 20-year-old’s performances dipped at the start of this season.
But Sancho has begun to hit form again, having scored three goals and posted four assists in his last six games for Dortmund.
The England ace looks set to be in demand again – and while Dortmund are highly unlikely to sell midway through the season, they will face a battle to keep him come the summer.
And the Red Devils could even land him for less than last year’s asking price, asking to German outlet Sport1.

The publication claims Dortmund’s financial difficulties could force them into accepting less for their star man, with the Bundesliga club expected to make losses of £88m after being hit hard by the coronavirus pandemic.
The club’s financial situation will be even worse if they fail to qualify for the Champions League – and at this stage of the season that looks a real possibility.
Edin Terzic’s side are currently seventh in the table after losing two of their last three league games.
They are only three points behind fourth place but are also just two points ahead of ninth place in a congested Bundesliga.

And qualifying for the Champions League will also be crucial if they hope to persuade Sancho to stay for the remainder of his contract, which runs until 2023.
United will face competition for Sancho, with Chelsea, Real Madrid and Barcelona all having been credited with interest in the winger.
