Man Utd ‘preparing offer’ for Kolo Muani with club ‘afraid’ of Erik ten Hag

Manchester United are reportedly still preparing an offer for Eintracht Frankfurt striker Randal Kolo Muani. The Bundesliga club are claimed to be ‘afraid’ of an approach from the Red Devils in the final month-and-a-half of the summer transfer window.

United are desperate to sign a striker this summer. Harry Kane was the top target for Erik ten Hag heading into the window.

Napoli’s Victor Osimhen was also on the radar of the Dutchman. However, both players have been deemed too expensive by United due to their limited budget.

Ten Hag has already spent over £100m on deals for Mason Mount and Andre Onana. Part of the club’s focus will now be on selling unwanted players in order to raise further funds for incomings.

Atalanta star Rasmus Hojlund is the top striker target for the Old Trafford club. However, the Serie A side’s manager says he hopes for a fee of up to £86.5m for the young Denmark star.

Kolo Muani is another forward who has been linked with United in recent months. And Caught Offside claims a deal could still be on the cards.

The report says that Frankfurt are afraid of a potential approach from United. It is claimed that the Red Devils have been preparing an offer for the France international.

Frankfurt are comfortable that Paris Saint-Germain won’t pursue their star forward but are less confident about United. The Red Devils are yet to put their offer on the table but it is reported that Kolo Muani would likely agree to the move as there is not much interest from elsewhere.

Kolo Muani scored 23 goals in all competitions for Frankfurt last season. He was part of the France squad that lost the World Cup final to Argentina in Qatar.

The 24-year-old missed a glorious chance to win his country the final deep into extra time. Argentina goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez denied him when through one on one.

Kolo Muani only joined Frankfurt from French side Nantes last summer on a free transfer. He still has four years remaining on his contract in Germany.

United will make a striker signing before the window closes on September 1. Hojlund is the priority right now and they will look to strike that deal first.

But if he is deemed too expensive, Kolo Muani could well be the next on the list. Frankfurt may well be fighting a losing battle if he is.
