Man Utd poised for Kylian Mbappe transfer with Sheikh Jassim and PSG ‘plan’ set

Erik ten Hag wants Man Utd to use FA Cup final defeat as motivation

Manchester United will be in pole position to seal a sensational swoop for Kylian Mbappe if Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad Al Thani completes a takeover this summer, according to reports. Sheikh Jassim could use his Qatari ties to make the wantaway PSG forward a statement signing if he buys United from the Glazers.

According to Madrid-based outlet El Pais, PSG’s Qatari owners plan to sell Mbappe to United if Sheikh Jassim becomes the club’s owner in the coming months.

Discussions over the blockbuster deal have been ongoing since February, with Mbappe destined to leave the Parc des Princes.

The 24-year-old has announced his intention to opt against extending his PSG contract beyond 2024, meaning PSG would lose him for free if they don’t cash in this summer.

And he is said to find the prospect of a move to United, where he would become the face of a new era under Sheikh Jassim’s ownership, interesting.
