Man Utd players labelled an "absolute disgrace" for part in Solskjaer sacking
Premier League legend Jamie Carragher has branded the Manchester United team an ‘absolute disgrace’ after they crumbled to a 4-1 defeat to Watford, leading to the sacking of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
The Norwegian was given the boot on Sunday following embarrassing defeats at the hands of Liverpool, Manchester City and the Hornets in the space of four Premier League fixtures.
United’s performances have this season have fallen well below par and, despite an excellent summer transfer window, look like they will be battling it out for a top-half finish rather than the title at the end of the season as it stands.
Plenty of blame has, understandably, fallen on the shoulders of Solskjaer, but Sky Sports pundit Carragher has also laid into the Red Devils team that have let the 48-year-old down and made the sacking decision a simple one.
Speaking about the emergency meeting that was called on Saturday evening to discuss Solskjaer’s future, Carragher said: “What are they going to talk about? The board meeting won’t last too long. It’s got to the stage sometimes where it comes untenable.
“I was here when it happened to Roy Hodgson where he was in the job for six months and the atmosphere changed and sometimes it needs to be done for the club and the manager’s benefit too.
“You look at Ole as a human being and it’s not good for him to be United manager and it’s obvious what’s going to happen. I don’t care what anyone says, United have quality players you can’t lose to Watford 4-1.

"The manager will go, we know that, but the players’ performances this season have been scandalous."
It remains to be seen who replaces Solskjaer in the dugout of Old Trafford.
Real Madrid legend Zinedine Zidane has been linked with the move on several occasions but it was previously reported that the Frenchman had no intention of making the switch to England.
Leicester City’s Brendan Rodgers has also been the firm favourite to fill the vacancy until recently, the Foxes were easily beaten 3-0 by Chelsea on Saturday afternoon so the former Liverpool boss might fit the bill…
