Man Utd owners the Glazers eye up £90m deal as Harry Maguire given reality check
Man Utd v Wrexham: Match Preview
Manchester United continued their pre-season campaign against Wrexham in the early hours of Wednesday morning. Although a young side set out by Erik ten Hag suffered a 3-1 defeat, the Dutchman’s more experienced campaigners are expected to take centre stage in an upcoming friendly against Real Madrid.
Momentum is building behind the scenes at Old Trafford as the competitive season edges closer. Anthony Elanga sealed his exit on Tuesday with a move to Nottingham Forest, while Eric Bailly strongly suggested with a social media post that he will be next.
Meanwhile, two incoming deals appear close to a major breakthrough. Rasmus Hojlund and Sofyan Amrabat each have their heart set on joining the Red Devils, although there are still important details to thrash out at the negotiating table.

Maguire given reality check
Former Premier League striker Clinton Morrison has told Harry Maguire to ‘think of himself’ and leave Man Utd.
Maguire has slipped down the pecking order under Erik ten Hag and he was stripped of the captaincy this summer.
West Ham have held talks over a permanent transfer, but Maguire would reportedly be happy to stay at Old Trafford and fight for his place.
“Harry Maguire needs to leave Manchester United for his own sake,” Morrison told Sky Sports. “No one likes to leave a club like that as they’re one of the biggest in the world, but Maguire has to think of himself.
“The problem with Maguire is that his England career is on the line. He’ll always get picked by Gareth Southgate but he may not be a regular if he’s not playing club football. I don’t see him playing at United as he’s now their fourth-choice centre-back.
“It’s best for the player if he moves on and he still has a lot to offer to many other Premier League clubs.”
Glazers eye up £90m deal
West Ham have held talks with Manchester United duo Harry Maguire and Scott McTominay, according to Sky Sports.
But the Glazers would reportedly be keen to recoup £90million for the out-of-favour duo.
McTominay has been slapped with a £40m price tag, while fourth-choice centre-back Maguire has an ambitious asking price of £50m.
There is thought to be a gap in valuations between the Hammers and United, with negotiations still at an early stage.
