Man Utd ‘offered Atalanta three players’ in Rasmus Hojlund swap deal package
Atalanta have reportedly rejected the chance to sign three Manchester United players as part of a deal for Rasmus Hojlund. The Denmark international striker is the next target in Erik ten Hag’s crosshairs and there is optimism he will follow Mason Mount and Andre Onana through the door in the coming weeks ahead of the 2023/24 campaign.
While United are yet to submit a formal bid it’s understood they have held verbal discussions with Atalanta for the 20-year-old frontman.
Fabrizio Romano is now reporting that United loosely proposed three players to the Italian side that they could sign as part of the package.
Although the identity of the players have not been specified, it’s understood Donny van de Beek was one of the names under discussion.
Crucially, however, Atalanta said no as they prefer a straight cash deal this summer for one of Europe’s hottest talents.

They are now anticipating an opening bid for United and they are seeking up to £60m to agree to a sale.
United are now expected to open negotiations with the Serie A outfit in the coming days after wrapping up the signing of new No.1 Onana from Inter Milan.
The club-to-club agreement has now been reached and Onana is due to land in Manchester on Tuesday evening at around 7pm to finalise his move.
Onana is due to undergo a medical after saying his goodbyes at Inter’s training base in the past few days and there is optimism he will be ready to fly with United to the USA for their pre-season tour.

Ten Hag is now working with limited finances having splashed over £100m on the double acquisition of Mount and Onana and further sales could be necessary if Atalanta play hardball.
Nottingham Forest are interested in signing Dean Henderson and United are expected to get at least £20m for the England international goalkeeper.
That money could be put straight back into the transfer kitty and into Ten Hag’s striker fund.
Atalanta know United are desperate for a striker and are therefore likely to represent tricky negotiations.
Add to that, Paris Saint-Germain and Juventus have also been snooping around Hojlund meaning Atalanta could be eyeing a bidding war.
Speaking back in June, Hojlund details his admiration for United amid links to Old Trafford.
“It is a huge club,” he told the Danish press. “So I must have done something right if it’s rumoured they want me. We have to see what happens.
“As you see and hear, I imagine a lot could happen to quite a few strikers this summer, as many clubs are looking for a No.9.
“Something will definitely happen there, and then we’ll have to wait and see if I am included in it.”
