Man Utd offer contract, Arsenal launch £57m bid, Chelsea green light

Premier League clubs are plotting their transfer business with a little over a month to go until the January window. The likes of Manchester United, Arsenal and Chelsea are in need of reinforcements to bolster their respective squads.

United have improved in recent weeks, winning comfortably against a fired-up Everton on Sunday. However, Erik ten Hag’s squad still looks light in a number of areas, leading to some likely January deals.

Despite heavy spending, Arsenal and Chelsea still have gaps that need filling. Newcastle, Aston Villa and Tottenham could also be busy in their attempts to elevate themselves to the next level.

Man Utd to offer contract

Man Utd are preparing a contract for when Antonio Silva’s Benfica release clause comes into effect, Sky Germany reports.

Silva can be snapped up for £85m next summer and the Portuguese side are reportedly resigned to losing the 20-year-old.

United are reportedly already preparing terms for when the clause comes into play in a bid to get ahead of the competition.

It comes with Raphael Varane supposedly set to leave when the season comes to an end.

Arsenal launch £57m bid

Arsenal will reportedly launch a £57m bid for Douglas Luiz in January, ESPN report.

The Gunners had three separate offers for the midfielder rejected by Aston Villa in the summer of 2022.

With Thomas Partey supposedly set to depart, Arsenal are considering their alternatives and could prepare another offer for the Brazilian.

Luiz still has three years in his contract, handing Villa plenty of negotiating power.

Chelsea green light

Victor Osimhen is reportedly interested in joining stricken Chelsea but the Blues face a major roadblock, it is claimed.

Napoli star Osimhen is one of Europe’s most wanted forwards, with Chelsea desperate for a new No 9.

But Todd Boehly and co. may struggle to get the Nigerian out of Italy midway through the season.

According to the Mirror, Napoli have slapped a £100m price tag on Osimhen, potentially pricing him out of a winter transfer.

Given Chelsea’s huge spending in recent years, Financial Fair Play could prevent a deal at that price.
