Man Utd move for Erling Haaland could be scuppered by Solskjaer decision
Manchester United's hopes of a move for Erling Haaland could be scuppered by their decision not to sack Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as manager.
The Borussia Dortmund forward is in high demand, with a number of Europe's biggest clubs understood to be plotting moves for him next summer.
Interest has been elevated by the fact he has a release clause in his contract that becomes active at the end of this season, allowing him to be bought for £66million.
However, United may have caused themselves to miss out on the 21-year-old Norwegian as a result of keeping Solskjaer in charge at the club.
German outlet Bild report that Solskjaer remaining as manager of United will reduce the club's chances of securing Haaland's services in 2022.
Haaland is represented by infamous super agent Mino Raiola, who is expected to have a big say in where his client ends up next summer.
Raiola also counts United midfielder Paul Pogba amongst his clients and reportedly blames Solskjaer for the Frenchman's unconvincing performances this season.
In addition, Raiola has been particularly vocal about Pogba's United future, with the former Juventus man's contract up in the summer and Paris Saint-Germain believed to be interested.

The report adds that Raiola may prove to have a say in whether Solskjaer is dismissed by United in the future, should he tell the club that Haaland will not sign for them while he is at the helm.
Many fans had called for Solskjaer to be relieved of his duties after last month's 5-0 home defeat to Liverpool, but he kept his job and saw his side win 3-0 at Tottenham Hotspur last weekend.
It had previously been thought that having Solskjaer in charge would be a help in the club's attempts to sign Haaland due to their past connections.
Solskjaer gave a 16-year-old Haaland his professional debut at Molde in 2017 and the Dortmund striker ultimately made 50 appearances under Solskjaer, scoring 20 goals along the way.
Since leaving Molde in 2019, Haaland has scored 99 goals in 96 matches for Red Bull Salzburg and Dortmund, making him one of Europe's most sought after players.
In addition to United, Real Madrid, Barcelona, Manchester City and Bayern Munich have all been strongly linked with the player in recent months.
