Manchester United have reportedly already decided their transfer priority for the summer of 2022 in the form of Erling Haaland.

According to ESPN, United's acquisition of Cristiano Ronaldo will not affect their plans to bring the Norwegian striker to the club from Borussia Dortmund next summer.

United pursued Haaland prior to his move from Red Bull Salzburg to Dortmund back in January 2020 and are ready to make a second attempt to sign him at the end of the season.

However, due to a release clause in Haaland's contract coming in to affect in 2022, a host of top European clubs are set to come in for the 21-year-old.

United finalised the signing of Ronaldo on Tuesday, as the Portuguese forward returned to Old Trafford from Juventus for £13.5million, signing a two-year contract worth £385,000-per-week.

It is believed, though, that this will have no impact on their plans to move for Haaland at the end of the current season, a player who was handed his professional debut by manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer during their time at Molde.

Haaland has a £64million release clause that can be activated from the end of the 2021/22 season and Chelsea, Manchester City, Real Madrid and Barcelona are all thought to be interested.

Bayern Munich are also tracking the Norway striker, but feel that his desire to have a new challenge outside of Germany could hinder their approach.

The 21-year-old forward has attracted strong interest from Europe's biggest clubs in the last two years with his incredible form in front of goal, scoring 63 goals in 64 games for BVB.

Haaland might not be the only major striker to move clubs next summer, with the futures of Kylian Mbappe, Harry Kane and Robert Lewandowski all uncertain.

Mbappe was the subject of a number of bids from Real Madrid this summer but ultimately remained at Paris Saint-Germain, where his contract expires at the end of the season.

Kane announced his desire to leave Tottenham Hotspur to win trophies at the end of last season before making a U-turn after Manchester City failed to sign him.

As for Lewandowski, the Polish forward reportedly wants a fresh challenge and hopes to find a new club within the next two years.
