Manchester United are in discussions to sell young midfielder James Garner to Everton, according to reports. The Red Devils are willing to sell the England U21 starlet before the end of the transfer window, with several clubs interested.
Garner was an unused substitute in United’s defeats by Brentford and Brighton. He was then excluded from the squad that sprang an upset to beat Liverpool on Monday.
United value the 21-year-old at around £14million and are now in discussions with interested parties about a deal. The Red Devils could need to recoup funds if they are to complete an £80m transfer for Ajax winger Antony.
Discussions over Garner moving to Everton are now taking place, as per reports. The Toffees are looking to strengthen their midfield.

That is according to The Athletic, who claim that talks over a potential £14m switch are ongoing. Garner caught the attention of several Premier League clubs during a successful loan at Nottingham Forest last season.
The United academy graduate played a key role in helping Forest win promotion to the top-flight. He is now looking to kickstart his career in the Premier League.
Everton are expected to complete several pieces of business before the September 1 transfer deadline, with incomings and outgoings expected. Anthony Gordon and Dele Alli have both been linked with departures from Goodison Park.
Express Sport understands that a £45m bid from Chelsea for attacker Gordon was rejected by Everton. The Merseysiders considered that to be the end of the matter but have not gone as far as saying the 21-year-old is not for sale.

Wide-ranging reports this week have claimed that Chelsea will go back in with another offer for Gordon, with a £60m fee suggested. The Blues are keen to strengthen their forward line and Gordon is liked by head coach Thomas Tuchel.
“He’s our player, everyone knows there’s interest from Chelsea but he’s our player, it’s as simple as that,” boss Frank Lampard said of Gordon after Everton beat Fleetwood in the Carabao Cup on Tuesday night.
Questioned on reports claiming Gordon has asked to leave, Lampard added: “I’m never going to go into conversations that me and Anthony have, we have a good relationship and I’m not going to go there.”
Meanwhile, midfielder Dele has been linked with a move to Besiktas. The 26-year-old only joined Everton from Tottenham in January but his career has stalled and he is looking for a fresh start.
