Manchester United have been handed the perfect opportunity to sign Cristiano Ronaldo this summer by Real Madrid. It comes as the top sides in Europe chase Borussia Dortmund star Erling Haaland.
United have been handed a choice over Ronaldo or Haaland this summer after Real Madrid pulled out of one race.
The Red Devils are in the market for a striker after being disappointed with the efforts of Anthony Martial.
There have been several in mind but Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is desperate to land Haaland from Dortmund.
The Norway international worked with the United coach at Molde and has been in breathtaking form this year.
He has 33 goals in 31 appearances, including 10 in the Champions League.
But United are not the only interested in the 20-year-old, with Real Madrid also keen.
However, the possibility of signing Ronaldo has also propped up over the summer with his contract expiring in June 2022 at Juventus.
The Portugal international is not happy about the current season with Juve out of the Champions League and dropping behind in Serie A.
Real were touted as a potential destination but according to Marca, they are not interested.
Instead, they are only looking to snap up a younger forward – with Haaland the top target.
Now United have their own choice to make – having been linked with Ronaldo over the years as well.
The 35-year-old has a long history at Old Trafford and fans are desperate to see him return one day.
Ronaldo’s age has not stopped his antics in front of goal, scoring 30 goals in 34 appearances.
The Red Devils could move for the five-time Ballon d’Or winner if Haaland is too tough to land.
With Juventus paying him over £30m in wages a year, it would help alleviate their financial burden.
