Man Utd hold ‘private Marcus Rashford stance’ after ‘contract regret’ emerges
Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag is concerned with his side's woeful form
Manchester United are confident Marcus Rashford will rediscover his best form soon amid the 25-year-old’s disastrous start to the season. Rashford’s lack of goals, dismal decision-making and uninspiring body language have caused significant concern in recent months, but United are calm over his slump.
Erik ten Hag helped Rashford to a career-best last season, scoring 30 goals in all competitions as the driving force behind the Dutchman’s successful start.
But the United No 10 has netted just once in 10 appearances for club and country this term, contributing to the club’s worst-ever Premier League start.
Widespread disappointment in Rashford’s start has been intensified by the long-term contract worth around £400,000 a week he penned this summer.
And last month, former United defender Paul Parker claimed it was a mistake to hand ‘selfish’ and ‘petulant’ Rashford a bumper new deal.
“I was criticising Rashford when he scored goals because I wanted him to provide more for the team. Now, he is not scoring goals anymore, and his decision-making is still poor,” Parker told MyBettingSites.
“Everyone was saying that he was winning Man United games, but the only thing they could come up with is that he was scoring goals.

“It has taken people a while, but now they are finally seeing that he is not contributing to anything.
“He should be because he is a fast winger with decent technical abilities, but in fact, he is just a selfish player who lives on the back of being good in February.
“I think that Man United rushed in too quickly to give him this huge contract. Overall, he has been delivering a poor return throughout his Man United career. That’s a fact.”
Despite external concerns after seeing United already lose five games this term, the mood among club figures is reportedly contrasting.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Rashford is trying his best to turn his form around, and United believe it won’t be too long before he clicks into gear.
The England international’s performances and frustrated body language haven’t alerted United, with the mood at Old Trafford said to be ‘calm’ and ‘patient’.
Rashford has been able to regularly feature in his preferred left-wing position after Rasmus Hojlund’s £72million summer arrival, and the pair have been striking up a relationship.
But the addition of a central focal point understandably requires a period of adaptation across United’s attacking department, and Ten Hag remains confident the reward will come.
