Manchester United legend Roy Keane has ripped into Luke Shaw and David De Gea on Saturday. The Red Devils are 2-0 down to Manchester City at half time, with Eric Bailly’s own goal and Bernardo Silva’s strike giving them the lead. And Keane has vented his fury at the way Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s players are performing at Old Trafford.
Manchester United have gone into today’s match with City hoping to build on their 3-0 win over Tottenham last time out.
But it’s been another frustrating day for Solskjaer’s side so far, with the Red Devils trailing 2-0 at the break after Bailly’s own goal and Silva’s strike.
For Silva’s goal, Shaw and De Gea could have done better as the Portugal international was able to poke the ball home after the ball had been allowed to sail through.
And Keane, dissecting the goal on Sky Sports, has criticised the pair.
“Just on half time huge goal against City dominating possession but this defending from Shaw and De Gea, not enough pressure,” he said.

“You have to show intensity and put pressure.
“You’re on the ropes stay in the game. You’re like a boxer- stay in the game! I’ve been crossing these fellas for years- I give up.
“I give up on these players. These are international players, I give up.
“I can’t understand the defending. I give up. I drove up thinking United have a chance, but unless they do something drastic it will be another four or five.”
Before the game, Keane had branded United as a ‘rollercoaster’ under Solskjaer.

“This United team under Ole has been a rollercoaster,” he said.
“Obviously the last few months they’ve been so open so again we come into this game and again are saying which United side are going to turn up.
“We keep saying it obviously going forward they’ve got goals in them they’ve got quality but they’ve been so open in every game.
“Liverpool scored five Leicester scored four but even earlier before in the season so once again it’s a huge game for United and Ole and United have to turn up and show a performance.
“There’s ways of losing games Man City could turn up here and do a job but you can’t put the type of performance they did against Liverpool.
“The damage against Liverpool – they were so open the players left so much space Liverpool could have scored ten.
“You expect City to dominate possession and United have to get bodies back.
“Three centre backs, wing backs and United will have to rely on the counter-attack and show moments of quality which they have done.
“But can they shut up shop against City? It will be very difficult.”
Whether United are now able to fight back against City remains to be seen.
