Manchester United could have a way of freeing up transfer funds to beat Manchester City to Erling Haaland this summer. The Borussia Dortmund striker is in demand with a move to the Premier League mooted.
United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is a big fan and Pep Guardiola will be looking for a top forward in the transfer window.
That’s after City announced Sergio Aguero will be leaving the Etihad at the end of the season.
Haaland has been sensational this season, netting 33 goals in just 31 appearances across all competitions.
The 20-year-old is on the radar of all the European giants and it looks certain he will leave Dortmund for an astronomical amount of money in the summer.
One player who has been in resurgent form could help United and Ed Woodward secure a deal for the marksman.

Daniel James has impressed in the second half of the season, lessening the need to sign a right winger in the transfer window.
The Wales international scored the winner for his country last night against the Czech Republic to continue his fine form.
The 23-year-old netted in three consecutive games in February and has impressed when featuring for Solskjaer’s side in recent matches.
Along with Mason Greenwood, United suddenly have two options for the right wing berth.
It means Solskjaer and Woodward may now be comfortable with sticking rather than chasing someone like Jadon Sancho.

In turn, they can therefore prioritise their pursuit of Haaland with competition set to be fierce for the Norway international.
Another boost for United as they look to seal a deal could be the relationship of the striker’s agent, Mino Raiola with Pep Guardiola.
“As for Mr Guardiola, I’ve closed the book already a long time ago,” he told the Athletic.
“Everybody knows what I think of him personally and he can say what he thinks for me personally.
“For the rest, I think he’s a great trainer. And that’s how it is. I will not shut up for anybody. I’ll give my opinion, I think that it is my right.
“With Mr Ferguson or Guardiola, I have this problem — and I think that it is changing now — that (they believe) we should submit to them because ‘otherwise, tomorrow, you don’t do a player with Manchester United’.
“I don’t give a f*** if I never do another player with Manchester United. I’m not in their hands. I’m independent.
“We have only one party that we take care of: our players. And as long as our players like us, you do what you have to do.”
As well as United and City, the likes of Chelsea, Barcelona and Bayern Munich have all been linked with Haaland.
