Man Utd ‘happy to hand Pickford mega deal’ days after new wage structure emerged
Manchester United could be set to hand Jordan Pickford a huge contract – just days after the Red Devils reportedly set a new wage structure.
Pickford has emerged as a surprise target for the Red Devils – who, according to The Sun, would be prepared to almost double his £100,000-per-week wages. However, United will face competition from Tottenham for his signature, while Pickford's preference remains Everton.
A source close to Pickford told The Sun: "Jordan wants to stay at Everton. He loves the place, and is settled in the area he lives. But the club is not willing to meet the wage increase he is asking for."

The report comes just days after different reports suggested that United have implemented the "Ronaldo rule", which will forbid players from earning over £200,000-per-week.
The Red Devils are keen to avoid a jealous culture that stemmed from the mega-wages Cristiano Ronaldo was placed on. David De Gea has already agreed to a pay cut, which will take him under the £200k threshold.
However, Jadon Sancho, Casemiro, Raphael Varane, Anthony Martial, and Bruno Fernandes are all believed to also earn over the new limit.

United have already signed a goalkeeper in January – after Martin Dubravka was recalled by Newcastle, United acquired the services of Jack Butland on loan.
Butland said: "This is an amazing club and one that I am now proud to represent. I’m really looking forward to working with an unbelievable goalkeeping group, supporting each other every day to create the best training and playing environment for the team.
“I’ve played against David De Gea and represented England alongside Tom Heaton; they are top-class keepers, and I am relishing the opportunity to compete alongside and support them as team-mates."
