Man Utd gain upper hand as Borussia Dortmund ‘relying’ on Jadon Sancho transfer
Man Utd: Solskjaer reacts to 3-2 win over Liverpool
Manchester United have been given a welcome boost in their pursuit of Jadon Sancho, with Borussia Dortmund reportedly willing to part ways with their superstar to balance their books.
Sancho missed out on a summer switch to Old Trafford as United refused to meet Dortmund’s £108million asking price.
Months of speculation clearly played on the mind of Sancho, who initially struggled to find his best form at the start of the season.
But the England winger is beginning to find form again, which is undoubtedly good news for United and their manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
Solskjaer’s side are impressing this season and are currently two points clear at the top of the Premier League table, although nearest rivals City have a game in hand.

Despite their impressive form, Solskjaer remains intent on bolstering his attacking ranks and Sancho is his No.1 target.
And his pursuit has now been given a huge boost with Dortmund reportedly expecting losses of £88m due to the financial impact of the coronavirus crisis.
It has been claimed by Sport1 that the club are ‘relying’ on the sale of the former Man City youngster Sancho to balance their books.
However the club face a big decision as it is highly unlikely they will receive the £108m asking price they demanded last summer.
This month, Sancho insisted he has put his Man Utd transfer saga behind him and is “raring to go” again at Dortmund.
“Obviously this season has been very difficult for me personally,” Sancho told bundesliga.com.
“So I knew when I went away, I just focused on my game and came back raring to go.
“I’m working hard every day in training and on the pitch so I’m just happy to get my goals and assists.”
His comments came after Dortmund chief Hans-Joachim Watzke admitted the United interest may have impacted Sancho’s mindset.
Sancho looked set to head to Old Trafford in the off season, but United failed to meet Dortmund’s asking price after months of negotiations.
It’s been well documented that Sancho’s form at the start of this season was then below the standard usually expected of him, which it was speculated was due to the uncertainty over his future.
And Watzke has admitted the discussions with United likely had an impact on the youngster’s mindset.
“Maybe Jadon had subconsciously prepared for a move a bit,” Watzke told Kicker.
“I believe he at least thought about it that much that he lost a bit of his ease, but for weeks now I found him trying very hard.”
