Man Utd fans plan protest against Glazers – but under 50 turn up at Old Trafford
Manchester United fans held a protest against the clubs owners on Saturday – but less than 50 supporters turned up to the demonstration at Old Trafford.
Green and gold images emblazoned with the 'Glazer Out' hashtag have circulated on social media throughout the week as United fans planned to protest against the club's owners.
Fans have become discontent with the ownership of Joel and Avram Glazer over the course of their 16-year tenure at the club.
The images shared on social media also included the date and time of the planned demonstration, November 13 at 3pm, while some also included the 'Ole Out' hashtag.
Some sections of the support have called for under fire manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer to be relieved of his duties due to the club's slow start to the season.
United sit in sixth place in the Premier League after 11 matches of the season and have already been knocked out of the League Cup.
However, the protest did not attract the supporter numbers that it had hoped to as around 30 fans reportedly attended the demonstration outside Old Trafford.
A group of young supporters were reportedly heard saying "What the f*** is this turn out?" with the majority of fans at Old Trafford said to just be visiting the club shop.

One fan was overheard asking "Why are we not doing it on match day?", while the spokesperson for the protest stated: "If you're not going to come, don't say anything about it."
It is thought that this is in reference to the large number of fans who had promoted the protest during the week only to not turn up on the day.
The estimated 30 fans that had made their way to Old Trafford did make their feelings known, though, as they displayed a banner reading: "Enough is enough".
It was also reported that the supporters had successfully forced the club megastore into closing early due to their protest.

One reason being put forward for the poor turnout is the inclusion of the 'Ole Out' hashtag in the promotional material for the demonstration.
Fans had been urged to keep the protest aimed solely at the Glazers and were asked not to target Solskjaer.
Despite calls for him to be sacked, Solskjaer has so far continued to receive the backing of the club during the recent run of poor results.
United's next match in front of their own fans comes at the start of next month as they host Arsenal on December 2 at Old Trafford after three straight away matches.
