Man Utd fans love what Cavani did for Greenwood during Roma win
Manchester United fans loved Edinson Cavani's leadership qualities as well as his goalscoring brilliance in the Europa League semi-final victory against Roma.
United are through to their first final under boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, despite falling to a 3-2 defeat in the Italian capital.
Solskjaer's men won 8-5 on aggregate and will face Villarreal in the final after the La Liga bruisers knocked out a limp Arsenal side to avoid all-English finals in both European competitions.
Cavani, 34, scored both goals for United in the Stadio Olimpico, including a thunderous finish and powerful header during a centre-forward masterclass.
The Uruguayan striker ended the semi-final tie with four goals and seven out of eight goal involvements.
He now has seven goals in six games and is reiterating how important it will be that he remains at Old Trafford for another season.
United have been in talks to extend the forward's contract and he could be crucial in leading a possible Premier League title charge in the next campaign.
But Cavani is not just admired for his goals and caught the eye protecting teammate Mason Greenwood after a bust-up on Thursday night.
Furious Cavani stepped in as a bodyguard for Greenwood after the teenage sensation was angrily confronted by Roma stars Gianluca Mancini and Rick Karsdorp.

He shoved Karsdorp away before being dragged back by substitute Alex Telles as tensions threatened to spill over in Rome.
Cavani is providing an experienced figure for Solskjaer's young starlets to look up to and United fans loved the strikers actions sticking up for Greenwood.
"Cavani standing up for young Greenwood , Can this man do any wrong?," one fan tweeted.
"Cavani backing up Greenwood just then has made my day man," another posted.

While this fan said: "That's why i love Cavani so much,"
"A leader, mentality monster, and a winner. One of the best striker in his generation. Also, he's defending Greenwood like a teacher defending his student."
Ex United stars turned pundits Rio Ferdinand and Owen Hargreaves both praised Cavani's elite mentality in the aftermath of the game.
Ferdinand lauded Cavani as a role model and believes he can help bring the best out of Solskjaer's crop of young stars.
“As important [as his play], we saw Bruno [Fernandes] in his press conference yesterday, it’s his personality, the way he is in the dressing room," Ferdinand told BT Sport.
“He’s a winner, he’s won multiple trophies all over the world and that then inspires the younger player. The key thing for Ole is getting the young players like Mason [Greenwood] – who could become a true centre forward – but also [Rashford], if he can train and coach those guys and they can learn from him…beautiful.”
Hargreaves added: “Absolutely, the thing that's really impressive, is just his general centre forward play. He gets a lot of credit for his finishing, but just his general hold-up play, I thought it was absolutely first class."
