Man Utd fans beg for Sir Alex Ferguson back after worst start since he got job
Manchester United fans have started to call for Sir Alex Ferguson's return after their worst start to a season since he was appointed.
The Red Devils were beat 4-3 by Bayern Munich in their opening Champions League group stage match last night (September 20) – a fourth defeat in the first six games of the season. Erik ten Hag's side only have wins over Wolves and Nottingham Forest at Old Trafford.
You have to go all the way back to the 1986/87 campaign for the last time United lost four of their opening six in all competitions. That run was overseen by Ron Atkinson before he was sacked in November and replaced by Sir Alex – who some supporters are now yearning for.

One pleaded: "We are so done, bring back Sir Alex Ferguson." Another attempted to get the movement going as they echoed: "Time to bring back Sir Alex Ferguson from retirement. #BringBackSirAlex."
A third argued: "Asking Sir Alex if he's up to spin the block would not be uncultured. He's at the matches anyway." And a fourth added: "This same United team, put Alex Ferguson back in charge for one or two seasons and watch how the team go transform."

While a fifth went into a full meltdown as they posted: "Can Man U just bring Sir Alex Ferguson back from retirement? I'm sick and tired of being sick and tired of being sick and tired of being SICK AND FRICKING TIRED."
Fergie was mentioned in the pre-match build-up in Germany by Bayern boss Thomas Tuchel, who said he feels the legendary manager's 26-plus year reign still hangs over the club.
“At United, it’s common for small things to become more important than at other clubs," he told reporters. “I feel like at United there's always a lot of noise, a lot of consultants in the UK are ex-players. The legacy of Sir Alex creates a lot of pressure and of expectations”.
