Man Utd eye Vlachodimos signing as Chelsea want Balogun and Tottenham swap plan

How does Caicedo’s Chelsea transfer compare to previous big-money deals?

The final two weeks of the transfer window are underway and there is still plenty of business to be done by teams in the Premier League and beyond, as with the season kicking off the gaping holes in squads have only become more evident – with spending set to continue up until next month’s deadline.

Manchester United are attempting to sign a new goalkeeper in addition to reinforcements in midfield and defence, most lately targeting Benfica stopper Odysseas Vlachodimos as backup to fellow new signing Andre Onana, though exits may be needed in order for someone like Sofyan Amrabat to come in.

Arsenal have completed the majority of their business through Declan Rice, Kai Havertz, Jurrien Timber and David Raya but a long-term injury suffered by Timber on his Gunners debut could force them to enter the market once again.

Liverpool are looking to beef up their midfield further after the signing of Wataru Endo, having been gazumped by Chelsea for both Moises Caicedo and Romeo Lavia – while Tottenham and Manchester City could both add further firepower to their frontline shortly.

Tottenham swap deal

Tottenham are eyeing up a move for Nottingham Forest star Brennan Johnson this summer, but Steve Cooper’s side have been reluctant to part ways with the Wales international.

He has been subject to numerous bids from Brentford upwards of £40million, but Spurs seemingly have a plan to lower Forest’s asking price.

The Daily Mail have said that they are willing to offer Davinson Sanchez in exchange, having failed to offload the Colombian so far.

Chelsea told Balogun price

Chelsea have been told how much they will need to pay in order to sign Arsenal starlet Folarin Balogun this summer.

The Blues are lacking firepower up front beyond Nicolas Jackson, as a result of injuries to Christopher Nkunku and Armando Broja.

Balogun had been viewed as a potential signing and The Mirror have insisted that the young striker would cost Todd Boehly and co £40million to prise away from Arsenal.

Discussions between Arsenal and both Inter Milan and Monaco had broken down over Balogun, as neither club were prepared to pay the asking price.

United want Vlachodimos

Manchester United have reportedly explored the signing of Benfica goalkeeper Odysseas Vlachodimos as a replacement for Dean Henderson.

Henderson is expected to leave Old Trafford, with both Nottingham Forest and Crystal Palace keen on a potential move.

This has led Fabrizio Romano to claim that Vlachodimos is seen by United as a Henderson replacement and the club have explored the idea of signing the Greece international.

The goalkeeper does have a £51million release clause in his Benfica contract, however, as it remains to be seen whether United will be able to negotiate below that fee for Vlachodimos.
