Man Utd eye Mendes deal, plan Soyuncu talks and offer Lingard new contract
Manchester United are likely to be busy in the summer transfer window as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer eyes a Premier League title challenge in 2021/22.
The Red Devils came agonisingly close to winning silverware last season, suffering a penalty shootout defeat against Villarreal in the Europa League final.
They also finished second to neighbours Manchester City in the Premier League, meaning Solskjaer will be determined to strengthen his squad and go one better next season.
United are expected to sanction a number of incomings and outgoings before the window closes, and Daily Star Sport are on hand with the latest transfer news from Old Trafford.
United eye Mendes deal
According to Portuguese outlet Record, Man Utd are the frontrunners to sign highly-rated left-back Nuno Mendes from Sporting Lisbon this summer.
Both United and Man City were said to be interested in the 19-year-old, but the latter have since pulled themselves out of the running.
Their neighbours at Old Trafford are therefore leading the race to prise Mendes away from Sporting, who are said to be demanding £43million for the youngster.
Soyuncu talks planned
Solskjaer is keen to get his hands on a new centre-back in the summer transfer window and provide captain Harry Maguire with a more suitable defensive partner than current options Victor Lindelof and Eric Bailly.
And Turkish journalist Ekrem Konur claims Leicester star Caglar Soyuncu is on their shortlist, although they could face competition from Chelsea.
It is believed the Red Devils, who were previously linked with a move for Raphael Varane, are due to hold talks with Leicester in the near future.
Lingard offered new deal
West Ham are desperate to bring Jesse Lingard back to the London Stadium on a permanent basis following his successful loan stint in the second half of last season.
But Daily Star Sport understands the Hammers have received a major blow on that front, as United have offered him a new three-year contract.
The England star has been offered a deal worth £130,000-a-week to stay at Old Trafford, where he has spent the entirety of his 10-year career.
