Man Utd cutting it fine to complete Raphael Varane deal in time for Leeds clash
Manchester United are running out of time to complete the move of Raphael Varane, if they want to be able to field the defender in their Premier League opener against Leeds.
An agreement was reached with Real Madrid for the signing of Varane two-weeks-ago, but the Frenchman is still to complete his medical at the Manchester club.
A fee of £42.7million is set to be paid to Los Blancos for the World Cup winner, but Varane is still yet to be formally registered at United, and they are in a race to get the deal done before the weekend.
Varane is also yet to even train with his new teammates.
According to the Telegraph, Varane is due to begin his medical on Tuesday ahead of the completion of his £42.7m move from Real Madrid.
United are hoping to finally complete the deal by Wednesday, so that Varane will be eligible to feature against Leeds at Old Trafford, when he and fellow signing Jadon Sancho could make their debuts.

Solskjaer has said he hopes to have both players on the substitutes’ bench for the Premier League opener, and Old Trafford will have a full capacity crowd to welcome the new signings.
Sancho was signed from Borussia Dortmund for £73million, and it will be his second stint in Manchester after originally being let go by rivals Manchester City, and he has a point to prove in the Premier League.
Varane looks set to be a long-term partner at the back to Harry Maguire, as United look to solidify their defence for the near future.
