Man Utd could turn to Pochettino with PSG boss ‘open to Premier League return’
Manchester United could be lining up Mauricio Pochettino as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's eventual replacement with the Paris Saint Germain boss reportedly eyeing a return to the Premier League.
Pochettino has 18-months left on his contract in Paris but is thought to be open to a move back to England if the opportunity arises, according to French sources.
Despite a rocky start to the campaign, United have decided to stick with manager Solskjaer, though reports indicate the club no longer sees the Norwegian in their long-term plans.
Humiliating defeats to Liverpool and Manchester City in the space of a couple weeks have highlighted the gulf in class between Solskjaer and other managers in the league, and a number of former United players have begun calling for the 48-year-old to be sacked.
Pochettino, who has been linked with the Old Trafford hot-seat in the past, enjoyed a successful five-year stint with Tottenham Hotspur, leading the club to the Champions League final for the first time before being sacked in November 2019.
He spent just over a year out of the game before joining PSG in January 2021, taking over from Thomas Tuchel.
The Argentine's spell in France didn't get off to the best of starts as PSG failed to defend their Ligue 1 crown, finishing behind Lille in second place.
In the summer, the club brought in the likes of Lionel Messi, Gianluigi Donnarumma, Sergio Ramos and Achraf Hakimi to bolster a squad already brimming with talent.

And despite making bright starts in the league and in Europe, performances haven't been as strong as many expected them to be, and Pochettino has so far failed to properly gel Messi, Neymar and Kylian Mbappe together in PSG's attack.
Reports also indicate that Pochettino considered a move back to Spurs in the summer, before chairman Daniel Levy shifted his focus to Antonio Conte – who rejected his offer before joining the club four months later following the sacking of Nuno Espirito Santo.
Pochettino will take his team to the Etihad Stadium next week to face Pep Guardiola’s Man City in a repeat of last season’s Champions League semi-final.
