Manchester United have been tipped to approach Leicester City for the services of Brendan Rodgers if Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is sacked ahead of the November international break. The current Red Devils boss is on thin ice following Sunday’s crushing defeat at the hands of Liverpool but will reportedly be given the chance to put things right over the next few days.

United will travel to face Tottenham on Saturday in what could be Solskjaer’s final game in charge if the visitors fail to claim all three points in north London.

Club chiefs are reportedly drawing up a list of potential replacements for the Norwegian in the event of his departure, with Rodgers among the highest-profile names under consideration at Old Trafford, according to ESPN.

Antonio Conte has also been linked with the potential vacancy at United but has reportedly slipped down the order as a result of the costs involved in bringing him to the club.

Meanwhile, Rodgers has excelled during his time at Leicester, earning plenty of plaudits for his ability to get the Foxes performing on a consistent basis and his impressive approach to recruitment.

With that in mind, Express Sport takes a look at three players the Scot could bring with him if United decide to prise him away from the King Power Stadium.

Youri Tielemans

United have been credited with a long-standing interest in Tielemans, who has emerged as one of Leicester’s most important assets in recent years.

He has gained plenty of admirers with his excellent range of passing and all-rounded nature, with the Belgian able to help out in defence while popping up with a decisive goal or two in the process.

Leicester are currently in talks with Tielemans over the possibility of a contract extension in the east Midlands, but things could quickly change if Rodgers jumps ship to United.

The Foxes boss has successfully extracted the very best from his man over the last few seasons and could easily look to raid his former club in the event of an Old Trafford switch.

Wilfred Ndidi

United have been on the lookout for a new deep-lying midfielder for some time, with the likes of Fred and Scott McTominay struggling for consistency as of late.

Their perfect solution could arrive in the form of Ndidi, who is widely considered to be among the finest in his position that England’s top flight has to offer.

Leicester are under no immediate pressure to sell the 24-year-old but have a track record of accepting significant bids for their best players.

If Rodgers takes over at United in the near future, it would not be outside the realms of possibility for Ndidi to emerge as a priority target in January or when next summer rolls around.

Wesley Fofana

Fofana is another player to have been linked with United in recent months despite picking up a serious knee ligament injury in pre-season.

He is yet to feature for Leicester since the beginning of the campaign as a result, but has already established himself as a top-class defender since joining the Foxes last summer.

The Frenchman was signed to replace Harry Maguire at the King Power Stadium and earned plenty of praise for his ball-playing ability and defensive nous last season.

He could be primed to serve as the perfect understudy to the likes of Maguire and Raphael Varane at United, with the possibility of a move likely to increase if Rodgers is appointed as the club’s next manager.
