Man Utd chase £17m star, ‘move’ for Milinkovic-Savic and first signing ‘agreed’

Manchester United may have agreed their first transfer of the Ralf Rangnick era, according to reports.

The Premier League giants are expected to have a busy January transfer window as the new regime look to put their mark on the playing squad and finally address the club's problems in the middle of the park.

And with a midfield signing reportedly already agreed, the club's issues may have been addressed.

They could also look to move for Lazio midfielder Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, although his arrival may be more likely to happen next summer.

While the club is also reported to have entered the race for a £17m Argentinian forward who is being touted as a star of the future.

United chase £17m star

Manchester United could replace Edinson Cavani with Argentinian forward Julian Alvarez, it has been reported.

Ole [via ESPN ] claims that the forward, whose current contract expires in December 2022 and has a release clause of €20m (£17m), is being followed by United closely.

The 21-year-old River Plate forward has bagged 24 goals in 46 games this season and is now thought to be looking to secure a big-money move to Europe.

United may have to fend off interest from the likes of Bayer Leverkusen, Juventus, AC Milan, Inter Milan, Barcelona, Atletico Madrid and Bayern Munich to land the player, however.

First signing 'agreed'

United have reportedly agreed terms with Marseille's defensive midfielder Boubacar Kamara in a £10m deal and will announce the signing in the coming days.

The highly-rated 22-year-old is out of contract in the summer so is available for the cut-price fee.

FourFourTwo reports that Kamara is more likely to be a "depth player" for boss Ralf Rangnick and could also play in defence for the Red Devils.

Club 'move' for Milinkovic-Savic

The Red Devils are "moving with determination" to sign Lazio midfielder Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, according to reports.

The Serbian midfielder is said to be unhappy in Italy and United could target him as Paul Pogba's replacement once the Frenchman's contract expires next summer, according to Il Messaggero [via Sport Witness ].

It is reported that there is an "agreement between Mateja Kezman (the player’s agent) and Claudio Lotito (Lazio's president)" that he can leave in the summer.

Juventus are also reported to be interested in signing the midfielder, but "do not have the necessary financial resources to convince" Lazio, who are expected to demand a transfer fee of "at least €75m (£64m)".
