Man Utd can sign ‘another Cristiano Ronaldo’ to become Premier League favourites
Transfer rumours: Al Hilal submit a £259m bid for Kylian Mbappe
Manchester United hero Dwight Yorke has told Red Devils bosses they must sign another Cristiano Ronaldo figure in the shape of Kylian Mbappe to compete for the Premier League title. United have been linked with the Frenchman in recent weeks as they attempt to replace Ronaldo, who left Old Trafford last autumn before signing for Saudi Arabian club Al-Nassr.
“Man United signing Kylian Mbappe would be great for the Premier League because there would be a rivalry between both Manchester clubs and their superstars,” Yorke told OLBG. “It would probably take Man United back to the number one team on and off the pitch as well.
“If Mbappe signs for Man United, it might make us favourites for the title. The lift it would give players would make a difference. I’ve played in teams where there are class players in certain positions that give you that extra 20 per cent lift.
“The Man United players would get a buzz, Manchester as a city would be buzzing, the fans will be buzzing, and it would elevate the players and club to another level.

“Mbappe would have the same impact on Manchester as Cristiano Ronaldo did when he signed for Man United in 2021. Mbappe is the most exciting footballer in the world as we speak. Obviously Lionel Messi and Ronaldo both still have the massive following but Mbappe is on his way to being up there with them. I certainly would be extremely excited as a player and fan if he signs.”
Mbappe has one year remaining on his contract at Paris Saint-German but is up for sale after telling his bosses he has no intentions of extending his deal at the Parc des Princes beyond next summer.

Real Madrid have held a long-term interest in signing the blockbuster star, while Saudi giants Al-Hilal have reportedly put forward an eye-watering offer of £259million. Premier League trio United, Liverpool and Chelsea have also been tipped to make a move for the 24-year-old. But the forward could yet to decide to see out the final year of his contract in France.
United are in need of firepower in front of goal as they look to battle for silverware on all fronts this season. Erik ten Hag enjoyed a fine maiden campaign at the Old Trafford helm last time out and helped his team secure a return to the Champions League after guiding them to a third-place Premier League finish. United also lifted the Carabao Cup trophy and will be desperate to compete with Manchester City, Arsenal and Liverpool for the Premier League title this time around.
