Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has responded to Robbie Savage after his side’s 0-0 draw with Real Sociedad on Thursday night. The Red Devils progressed to the Europa League round of 16. And they’ll find out their opponents for the next round today.
United went into the match against Sociedad 4-0 up from the first leg.
Bruno Fernandes was at the double a week ago, while Marcus Rashford and Daniel James also found the net in a straightforward win.
There was to be no repeat at Old Trafford, however, with the La Liga giants holding United to a respectable draw.
At one stage, Solskjaer threw on young duo Amad and Shola Shoretire – in a move that left Savage wondering when his son, who is in the club’s academy, will get his chance.
And the Norwegian has now responded by saying: “He’ll get a chance if he does well.

“Anyone who signs here, has got a chance if they have the right attitude and listen to the coaches, so Robbie knows.”
On Shoretire, Solskjaer insisted the United star would be a vital figure for the club in the years to come.
“Shola has got some skills, he’s going to make a very good player here,” said the Norwegian.

“It’s a platform tonight, just 15 minutes but it’s something to remember for him at Old Trafford.
“Maybe he would’ve enjoyed it more with fans because they give you so much energy. But I’m sure all the fans will see him soon.”
Solskjaer also admitted United were working hard to improve, with the Norwegian dreaming of winning his first trophy with the Red Devils since his appointment two years ago.
“You remember the defeats more so than the wins,” he said.
“To get the semi-finals in any competition, you’re so close. We’ve had three of them, we’ve lost one, so this group knows how it feels.”
United deployed Axel Tuanzebe in midfield during the contest.
And he came closest to breaking the deadlock, seeing a header chalked off by VAR after a foul by Victor Lindelof in the build-up.
And Tuanzebe said: ”(Being played in midfield) is just something the gaffer did, we did not get the win but we are through.
“I am a versatile player, my natural place is central defence but I did it for the team.
“It is a while since I played in midfield but the most important thing is that we are through.
“The season has been up and down for me and we need to get more minutes and momentum.
“This is Man United, all players who play for us are talented and the manager always has options. The personalities that United bring through are determined players and that shows when we get the chance to play.
“It takes a while to get momentum going, have faith in the manager and we are starting to build that.
“It is not something done in a year or two, it is a long project and having faith in the coaching staff. The results are coming through.
“The disappointments always stay with you and you do not want to feel like that again, you try your best and ensure it does not happen again.”
