Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag will have to remind his dependable duo Scott McTominay and Diogo Dalot that they are now just one yellow card away from suspension heading into Sunday’s Premier League trip to Everton. As per normal top-flight rules, players are faced with a one-match ban once they accumulate five yellow cards.
Should any stars reach the 10 yellow card mark before their team’s 32nd league fixture, they will be slapped with a two-match suspension.
Thankfully, that is of course not yet possible after only eight Premier League match days but McTominay and Dalot are now walking a tightrope ahead of the trip to Goodison Park.
Both have clocked up four yellow cards to date and with some big matches on the horizon, the duo will have to think carefully about every challenge.
That said, neither are the kind of player that will restrict themselves in a tackle, particularly in the midst of a thunderous atmosphere on Merseyside under the lights.

McTominay’s season started with back-to-back bookings against Brighton and Brentford before he picked up further cautions against Southampton and Arsenal.
Dalot picked up three consecutive bookings against Liverpool, Southampton and Leicester before earning another yellow card after just two minutes in the Manchester derby.
Bruno Fernandes is also on three bookings meaning his discipline is also likely to become a talking point in the coming weeks.
After upcoming matches with Everton and Omonia, United face massive Premier League matches against Newcastle, Tottenham and Chelsea.

Ten Hag will be keen to call on his dependable for those encounters as United look to keep their heads above water in the race for Champions League football.
McTominay’s place in the side could be under threat with Casemiro reportedly in line for a chance to shine against Everton.
The Brazilian was named in the starting XI in the 3-2 Europa League win over Omonia in Cyprus on Thursday and could yet retain his spot.
United boss Ten Hag has been full of praise for both players as they continue to battle it out for a place at the base of his midfield.
Ten Hag said: “I said already before, it had nothing to do with Casemiro, it was all to do with Scott because, when you look at Brentford, he wasn’t in the team [and] we lose. Then [from] the day that Casemiro signed, we played six games and we won five.
“And, in five games, he [McTominay] played. In one game, he didn’t, and that was against [Real] Sociedad [a 1-0 loss]. So, for me, that was logical [to play McTominay] because it’s competition in the team. For me, it wasn’t a choice [not to play him].
“He performed really well, he developed really well and it had nothing to do with Casemiro, but I’m sure Casemiro will play a really important role.”
