Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag has opened up on Antony’s absence for today’s Premier League clash with West Ham. The Brazil international was hooked in midweek as the Red Devils cruised to a 3-0 win over Sheriff. However, despite going viral for showboating during that game, that isn’t why he misses out today…
Manchester United have gone strong for today’s game with West Ham.
David De Gea starts in goal, ahead of a back four consisting of Diogo Dalot, Harry Maguire, Lisandro Martinez and Luke Shaw.
In midfield, Casemiro, Christian Eriksen and Bruno Fernandes all get the nod.
And, up top, Anthony Elanga and Marcus Rashford start either side of Cristiano Ronaldo – who netted his third goal for the club against Sheriff on Thursday.
One interesting element from Ten Hag’s team selection is the absence of Antony, who was criticised for showboating against Sheriff on Thursday night.
But Ten Hag has insisted he hasn’t dropped the 22-year-old, with the forward sidelined through injury instead.
