Harry Kane in on a collision course with Tottenham supremo Daniel Levy after failing to return to pre-season training in a bid to force through a move to Manchester City.
Kane was to due to report to the club's training ground this morning (Mon) to undergo a Covid test and medical examinations following his summer break.
But the England captain remained at home instead as he waits to discover if Levy will agree to sell him to the Premier League champions.
It is understood Kane, who turned 28 last week, believes he has a gentleman's agreement with Spurs chairman Levy that he can leave the club this summer.
The striker has made it clear to Spurs that he wants to join City to fulfil his ambitions of challenging for the game's biggest prizes.
But Levy remains adamant he does not want to sell the club's prize asset, which has led to a stand-off between the club and player.
Kane's refusal to attend training means he has effectively gone on strike and shows he is prepared to play hardball with Spurs in his attempts to get the move he wants.

But the move could only serve to harden Levy's stance and make him even more determined to keep him.
City are willing to open the bidding at £100m, but Levy is demanding closer to £160m and the two clubs remain miles apart in their valuation of Kane.
Manchester United and Chelsea are keeping close tabs on the Kane situation to see how the impasse unfolds.
It remains to be seen how long Kane decides to stay away from training while his future remains in limbo, but new boss Nuno Espirito Santo will not be impressed as he ramps up his preparations for the new top flight season.
Santo has made it clear Kane is going nowhere and was hoping to hold talks with him today.
