Mason Mount looks to be en route to Old Trafford after a breakthrough in negotiations saw Manchester United agree a £60million deal to sign the Chelsea midfielder.
ESPN's Rob Dawson reported the Red Devils will pay an initial £55m fee, with a further £5m in add-ons. Erik ten Hag's side previously had two lesser offers for the England international turned down, but it appears United are close to landing their man.
The transfer would see Mount, 24, leave Stamford Bridge after 18 years on the Blues' books. The fan favourite joined the club's academy at just six years of age and was a key figure in Chelsea's Champions League-winning run in 2021.
And his exit is far from the first in west London this summer, with new manager Mauricio Pochettino set to lead a completely new squad in the upcoming campaign.

News of agreed terms with United comes after Kai Havertz's move to Arsenal was confirmed on Wednesday. The Germany international has joined the Gunners in a deal believed to be worth £65m, recouping almost the entire £72.5m spent to acquire him from Bayer Leverkusen in 2020.
Midfielder Mateo Kovacic has also left for pastures new after joining Treble-winners Manchester City for an initial £25m. That's after N'Golo Kante (Al-Ittihad), Kalidou Koulibaly (Al-Hilal) and Edouard Mendy (Al-Ahli) each left for Saudi Arabia over the past week.

Mount – who had just 12 months remaining on his Chelsea contract – is the latest star addition to Ten Hag's midfield after Casemiro and Christian Eriksen impressed in their debut seasons last term. He'll replace Marcel Sabitzer, who has returned to Bayern Munich after spending the last six months of the 2022/23 campaign on loan at United.
Ten Hag is also set to welcome former Ajax charge Donny van de Beek back into his plans after the Netherlands playmaker missed much of last season through injury. However, the Dutchman's long-term prospects in Manchester appear uncertain as he targets a comeback.
Mount made his feelings clear that a summer exit could be on the cards after a nightmare campaign in west London, struggling with injury and constant rotation under three different managers. 'Transfer insider' Fabrizio Romano reported Mount will pen a five-year deal at Old Trafford, having agreed personal terms with United 'weeks ago'.
The Red Devils are due to kick off their pre-season against Leeds in Oslo on July 12 before facing Lyon in Edinburgh five days later. They'll then travel to the United States for a tour against Europe's elite (and Wrexham), and it looks highly likely Mount will be along for the ride.
