Man United players think Cristiano Ronaldo is a 'pain in the a***'

Report claims Man United players think Cristiano Ronaldo is a pain in the a*** and celebrated when he told the club he wanted to leave… because he’s become a ‘divisive’ figure in the squad

  • Cristiano Ronaldo told Manchester United he wanted to leave at the start of July
  • But he is yet to secure a move away with three days left of the transfer window
  • The 37-year-old has reportedly become an unpopular member of the squad
  • He is said to be unforgiving and critical of his team-mates’ shortcomings

Wantaway star Cristiano Ronaldo is reportedly viewed as a ‘pain in the a***’ by his Manchester United team-mates, who are said to have celebrated when they found out he wanted to leave the club.

The 37-year-old stated his desire to quit Old Trafford at the start of July, but he is yet to secure a move away with less than 72 hours of the transfer window remaining.

Ronaldo has started just one of United’s four Premier League games so far this season and that was the humiliating 4-0 defeat at the hands of Brentford.

He is said to be unforgiving of the shortcomings of Harry Maguire (L) and Marcus Rashford

According to ESPN, the forward has become a ‘divisive’ figure in the squad as he has been unforgiving of his team-mates’ shortcomings.

The report adds that he expects players like Harry Maguire and Marcus Rashford to perform like Rio Ferdinand and Wayne Rooney – stars during Ronaldo’s first spell at Old Trafford – and is critical when they do not reach these heights.

Therefore, United’s players are said to have been filled with ‘joy’ when it became clear that ‘pain in the a***’ Ronaldo wanted to leave.

The superstar’s agent Jorge Mendes is busy trying to engineer a move for his client before the transfer window shuts, but clubs such as Chelsea, Atletico Madrid and Bayern Munich have all turned down the chance to sign him.

Erik ten Hag reiterated his desire to keep Ronaldo after United’s 1-0 win over Southampton on Saturday, when the five-time Ballon d’Or winner came off the bench and played 22 minutes.

‘We played with him,’ Ten Hag said. ‘So we want him to stay. That is what we want. I hope so.’
