Manchester City are willing to make a major sacrifice to land both Jack Grealish and Harry Kane this summer, according to reports. Pep Guardiola is looking to inject his squad with English firepower ahead of the 2021/22 season.
And Bernardo Silva could be on the verge of leaving City to help raise funds for the arrivals of Grealish and Kane.
The 26-year-old had a difficult 2020/21 season and struggled to cement a regular starting spot in Guardiola’s Premier League-winning side.
Bernardo scored just five goals and contributed nine assists in 45 games, and started just 24 league games.
With Guardiola looking to change the look of his attack as City pursue Champions League success, Bernardo could be the current squad member to suffer.
JUST IN: Man City have three secret weapons in securing Harry Kane transfer
According to The Sun, City need to offload one star to fund their sensational double swoop for Grealish and Kane.
The report states that the player in question is likely to be Portuguese midfielder, Bernardo Silva.
Kane ‘is poised’ to complete a British record £160million move to the Etihad Stadium, and Grealish’s arrival would take the combined amount required to north of £225m.
However, The Sun claim City won’t have to rely on selling numerous first-team stars due to recent outgoings gradually increasing Guardiola’s transfer kitty.

City are yet to re-invest the £45m received last summer as Leroy Sane joined Bayern Munich.
The permanent departures of Lukas Nmecha, Jack Harrison and Angelino have also contributed welcome income throughout the transfer window so far.
Jadon Sancho’s £73m move to Manchester United, confirmed on Friday, has also seen City earn £11m due to a clause in his Borussia Dortmund contract.
Serbian midfielder Ivan Ilic is set for a £12m permanent move to Hellas Verona, whilst Patrick Roberts, Pedro Porro and Yangel Herrera are also expected to leave.
Riyad Mahrez, Raheem Sterling and Gabriel Jesus have all been linked with moves away this summer.
Guardiola clearly wants to freshen up his attacking options, and bringing in Grealish and Kane is an emphatic way of doing that.
Bernardo is likely to be the attacker ‘sacrificed’ if City must make one heavyweight sale on top of their other exits this summer.
After all, he was expected to depart last summer after previously expressing a desire to play in Spain. Perhaps that will occur this time around.
