Manchester City have reportedly submitted a formal bid for West Ham United midfielder Declan Rice.
The 2022/23 Treble winners have offered the Hammers a deal worth £80million plus £10m in add-ons. It follows Arsenal's own bid of £75m plus £15m, which was rejected last week.
West Ham are believed to want an offer closer to the £100m mark, which City splashed on record signing Jack Grealish two summers ago.
Yet David Ornstein's latest report will put the Premier League champions in pole position to land the Hammers' Europa Conference League-winning skipper.

City's bid follows the departure of captain Ilkay Gundogan on a free transfer to Barcelona, as well as the potential sale of Kalvin Phillips.
Pep Guardiola has been handed the "biggest budget in football history" this summer to bolster his already-dominant side, thanks to revenue from winning various competitions and player sales.

City will now look to land Rice in what will be as much of a blow to rivals Arsenal, who finished second in the league, as it is a quality addition to the Etihad side.
The Gunners have been favourites to sign Rice over the past month, with various reports stating the player himself favours Arteta's project and remaining in his home city.
Yet the north Londoners have been unable to make West Ham budge on their demands, with City's approach now potentially throwing a spanner in the works.
Arteta was tight-lipped when quizzed on Arsenal's interest in Rice this summer during an interview with Spanish outlet Marca.
The manager said: "Sorry but I can’t speak about players who are not at the club. I prefer not to comment.
"We already made a refresh of the squad. We’re now together with owners to build a winning team that could be sustainable for long term. We need important players and we’ll attack the market to sign those who we need."
