Man City sister club boss ‘seen’ in Glasgow after being linked with Celtic job
City Football Group coach Des Buckingham has been snapped in Glasgow after being linked with the Celtic job.
The Hoops are looking for a new manager after Ange Postecoglou joined Tottenham Hotspur on Tuesday. Buckingham is currently at the helm of Mumbai City, who are under the Manchester City CFG umbrella, and has been touted for the vacancy.
One Celtic fan shared a snap of what appeared to be Buckingham boarding a flight to Glasgow. He tweeted: "Just boarded a flight with who I think is CFG Mumbai city head coach Des Buckingham…"
And Celtic fans were quick to start to get excited about the prospect of their new boss. One fan said in response: "BuckieBall, could be cool?."

A second added: "I hadn't heard of Ronny Deila until we were linked, I hadn't heard of Ange Postecoglou until we were linked, and I certainly have never heard of Des Buckingham."
"Whether there is anything in this or not, that's some unreal knowledge. If they know this much about world football, I can only imagine how much they know about restringing tennis rackets," a third added. And another joked: "Always been a big fan of Buckingham. Especially in the last 20 minutes."

It wouldn't be the first time Celtic have looked to the CFG when hiring a new boss.
In 2021, when looking for a new manager, they settled on Yokohama F. Marinos' Postecoglou. The Japanese side are also under the CFG umbrella, and after Spurs appointed Postecoglou, Pep Guardiola praised the Australian.
He said: 'Absolutely, [good addition] another exceptional manager is coming. I was lucky to meet him in Toyko years ago when he was the manager of Yokohama one of the clubs in CFG. It was an interesting chat, at Celtic he did an incredible job.”
