John Stones has explained what Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola spoke about at half-time of their clash with Manchester United.
City went into the break at Old Trafford goalless though eventually won 2-0 to reach the Carabao Cup final.
Stones scored a crucial first, ghosting in at the back post to tap home a set-piece, before Fernandinho struck with a fine volley.
City have found some form in recent weeks and will now look to win their fifth League Cup in six years when they face Tottenham in April.
And while the game was locked in a stalemate at the break, Stones insists boss Guardiola was happy with how things were going.
Asked what manager Guardiola said at the break, Stones told Sky Sports : "Same again – same mentality, same pressing, same everything, really.
"I thought the first half we set the tone on how we played against such a good side. They posed us problems and we dealt with that so well. I thought we had so many chances and we did the job at the end of the day.

Stones has impressed in recent weeks having previously looked like his City career was coming to an end.

“We dipped a little bit in the second half, we were tired after the game at Stamford Bridge but when the team has this mentality they can do something incredible.
“It's not the Champions League but four times in a row to reach the final – I'm so impressed.
"[The final] is not next week, the game will arrive at the final. We will be in the best possible condition. Tottenham are a top team but we won't think about it yet."
