Man City lose track of goals and announce wrong score after Haaland demolition
Manchester City's stadium announcer had to offer up a correction after reading out the wrong scoreline after their demolition of RB Leipzig on Tuesday evening (March 14).
With Erling Haaland scoring five and Ilkay Gundogan and Kevin De Bruyne grabbing one each, the scoreline finished 7-0 – and 8-1 on aggregate after a 1-1 draw.
Despite that, the announcer said to the 50,000 strong Etihad crowd: "Man City win 8-0, and 9-1 on aggregate… correction, 7-0, 8-1 on aggregate."

One fan said: "Man City's stadium announcer said it was 8-0!" A second posted: "Ffs the City match announcer had the audacity to add another goal on. Wasn’t 7 enough."
A third continued: "Man City scored so many goals that even the stadium announcer got the score line wrong and had to correct himself."

With Lionel Messi scoring five against Bayer Leverkusen back in 2012, Luiz Adriano hit five against BATE Borisov for Shakhtar Donetsk two years later.
With Haaland being subbed off before he got the chance to beat the record outright, he said on BT Sport: "I told him [Pep Guardiola] I would love to score a double hat-trick but what can I do?"
He added when asked by Joleon Lescott of his super power: "My super strength is scoring goals. Should I be honest?
"A lot of goals today, I didn't think. I was just trying to get it into the back of the net. A lot of it is being quick in the mind and trying to put it where the goalkeeper is not."
