Major fixture pile-up for non-league team who have 10 games in just 13 days

A non-league club are currently in the midst of the mother of all fixture pile-ups as they embark on a run of 10 games in just 13 days.

In a nightmare sequence that would leave Jurgen Klopp having kittens, Sandhurst Town kickstarted their horror schedule with a 3-2 win over Langley on Easter Monday.

Sandhurst, who play in the Combined Counties League Division One – which is the tenth level of the English football pyramid – now face nine more games across the next 12 days as they look to rise up the table.

The Fizzers, formed in 1910, begin their fixture marathon with four games in as many days, culminating in a home game against Berks County on Wednesday evening. They then have a two-day break before taking on Eversley and California, before three matches in as many days at home from Monday 17 April to Thursday 20 April.

If they can successfully negotiate that, they'll finish off with a 3pm kick-off at home to Rayners Lane on Saturday 22 April. The horror run was spotted by non-league journalist Ollie Bayliss, whose post received plenty of comments.

One fan wrote: "Puts professionals to shame." Someone else said: "This is a mindblowing fixture list! 10 matches in 12 days! 4 matches in consective days…. well not just once but twice! The weather isn't great so I'm not surprised if some matches get postponed."

A third person commented: "Holy moly." While another user said: "Imagine Klopp and Co having to do this!!!!" As another follower said: "Spare a thought for the poor kitman."

The ridiculous run comes following a harsh winter which has seen games postponed up and down the football pyramid. Remarkably, Sandhurst are only three points adrift of the Division One league leaders with nine matches still to play.

Win all of those and they'll break the 90-point mark and almost certainly gain promotion.
