Harry Maguire let his frustrations boil over during the first half of Manchester United's Europa League clash against AC Milan.
United hosted the fixture at Old Trafford and were lucky to not be two down at the interval after a pair of Milan goals were ruled out.
Rafael Leao, who started in place of the injured Zlatan Ibrahimovic, had the ball in the back of the net but the strike was quickly chalked off after the striker was deemed to be offside in the build up.
Moments later and Milan had the ball in the back of the net again. This time it was Franck Kessie who produced a sumptuous volley, stroking the ball past a sprawling Dean Henderson from the edge of the box.
However, the goal was dismissed after VAR adjudged the ball to touch the midfielder's arm just before he struck it.
Further replays have since shown it's not clear if the ball hit the Milan star's hip instead of his arm, suggesting the visitors have been served some cruel injustice.
But despite United's luck, Maguire had seen enough. The club captain blasted at his team-mates: "Stop giving the f****** ball away!"
The expletive-filled shout seemed to wake United up who soon started producing chances of their own.
And it is with some sense of irony that Maguire should miss an absolutely golden one for United.
A United corner was flicked on by Bruno Fernandes to find the centre-back at the back post with an open goal.
But, inexplicably, Maguire missed his chance from a yard and hit the post.
Further bad news came for United with Anthony Martial seen hobbling towards the tunnel at half-time when the whistle was blown.
The Frenchman was replaced by Amad who came on for the contest's second half.
