Luton vs Arsenal referee is 30-year-old Prem newbie with first big appointment
Samuel Barrott, 30, will take charge of his first major Premier League clash on Tuesday evening when he officiates Luton Town vs Arsenal.
Barrott took charge of his first Premier League game earlier this season when he was the man in the middle for Sheffield United's clash with Fulham. On that occasion, he was younger than both captains – Tim Ream and Chris Basham.
Barrott has since officiated four more Premier League ties, with his most recent coming 25 November between Burnley and West Ham. He has since refereed two Championship matches.

Barrott isn't the Premier League's youngest ever official, that record still belongs to Michael Oliver, who was on 25-years-old when he took charge of Blackburn vs Birmingham in 2010.

It's a big night for the Gunners, who can go five points clear at the summit of the Premier League table. Mikel Arteta's side are the current pace-setters, with Liverpool hot on their heals.
However, Liverpool don't play until Wednesday evening, when they make the trip to South Yorkshire to tackle Sheffield. Klopp's men could be five points behind when they kick off at Bramall Lane should Arteta's men get the job done on Tuesday.
Luton are currently hovering precariously above the drop zone, after Everton were deducted 10 points last month. The Hatters are two points above Everton in the table going into Tuesday night.
