West Ham United ace Lucas Paqueta has been showing off his fish catching skills whilst away on holiday.

The Brazilian enjoyed a successful first season with the Hammers last term, helping David Moyes side claim Europa Conference League success when West Ham defeated Fiorentina back in June.

After a long gruelling season, the 25-year-old is currently recharging his batteries out in Brazil, spending time with his family on a yacht.

And the Hammers midfielder took to Instagram to show his 10.9million followers what he was getting up to before the return of the Premier League.

Looking out onto the stunning clear blue ocean, Paqueta decided to take part in some fishing whilst on a yacht. However, the Brazilian had no fishing rod, or bait at his disposal.

Instead, he decided to take it upon himself to use his bare hands, grabbing a lone fish from the ocean which left him delighted. He then proceeded to place the fish back on the yacht, before dropping it back in the sea.

It seems as though this was done as a sign of respect to the fish, with Paqueta captioning his Instagram story: "Pescador da ilha de Paquetá… tem que respeitar" which translates as "Fishermen from the island of Paquetá… have to respect."

And this isn't the first time Paqueta has shown off his fishing skills whilst away on holiday.

Just last month, Paqueta was snapped with Newcastle United midfielder Bruno Guimaraes out on a boat fishing.

The two are close friends, with Paqueta even coming to visit Guimaraes in Newcastle following his move to Tyneside back in 2022 when the former was still playing for Lyon.
