Lucas Moura dedicates Spurs win over West Ham to his wife Larissa Saad

Tottenham hero Lucas Moura dedicates his winning goal in victory over West Ham in the Carabao Cup to his wife Larissa Saad… with his quarter-final strike coming just one day before their fifth wedding anniversary!

  • Moura then dedicated his strike to his wife of five years Larissa Saad
  • The forward now believes his side are in good shape to compete in Carabao Cup

Lucas Moura had cause for a double celebration following Tottenham Hotspur’s 2-1 victory over West Ham in the quarter-finals of the Carabao Cup.

The Brazilian winger scored the winning goal in the first half of the tie at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, netting moments after Jarrod Bowen had equalised for West Ham following Steven Bergwijn’s opener.

But after a strong defensive display in the second half set up semi-final with Chelsea next month, the 29-year-old dedicated his strike to his wife Larissa Saad who he will celebrate five years of marriage with on Thursday.

The win fired Spurs into the semi-finals of the Carabao Cup where they will face Chelsea

‘This derby win means a lot,’ Moura said post-match. ‘It’s a competition we can win. We are very strong at the moment and our desire is to win this trophy.

‘Very, very good. This goals means a lot for me, and for my wife. Tomorrow we complete five years. We are very happy and this is for her.’

The couple started dating a year prior to getting married but have reportedly been friends for much longer having been introduced to each other via a mutual friend, Thiago Nicacio – a lawyer for the forward when he was playing with Paris Saint-Germain.

They have two sons together, with Miguel born in 2018 and Pedro a year later.

Moura’s goal on Wednesday came after he slotted home low from close range following a strong run from Steven Bergwijn who squared a low pass across the six-yard box.

Following last season’s defeat by Manchester City in the final of the Carabao Cup, Moura believes Spurs are now in a better shape to go one better this time around.

‘It means a lot, it was a big game, a derby. It’s a competition we can win so let’s fight for this,’ he added.

‘We started very well, conceded a goal by our mistake but we controlled the game in the first half. In the second half they tried to score but we were solid and suffered together.

‘Last season we had the chance to get this trophy but in the final we didn’t play very well but now is another opportunity, another season, another manager, another squad and I think we’re better now.

‘A trophy is my objective, I think we deserve it but we need to show it on the pitch.’

The first leg of the semi-final against the Blues will take place on the week commencing January 3, with the second leg to be played the following week.
