Loveable Ally McCoist used sneaky tactics to cheat on BBC’s A Question of Sport
Football funny man Ally McCoist has admitted he used to cheat during episodes of Question of Sport (formerly 'A Question of Sport') back in the day.
The former Rangers boss used to be a team captain on the long-running BBC show and told a hilarious story of how he used to smuggle answers into the studio by writing them on his arm during a recent appearance on talkSPORT.
"I got this question [right] about a female Bulgarian pole-vaulter and [fellow team captain and snooker legend John Parrott] slammed his hand down [on the table] and went, 'I'm not having it, how do you know any Bulgarian female pole-vaulters?'

"And I pulled up my [sleeve] and said, 'I think you'll find I know three or four, actually'."
McCoist insisted he wasn't the only one who cheated on the show and told another story of how bewildered he was when Parrott managed to get nearly every question right during one particular broadcast.
"He did me, John did me the best ever. I didn't know they used to do a pre-recording of the show before [the actual show began] where they had guests come in to do the questions so it all went well," the 60-year-old said.

"He got in three hours early one day and sat with a chair and watched the show and all the questions were coming out! And I thought [during the show later that day], 'he's outstanding, this fella'."
Premier League pundit, talkSPORT co-host and co-commentator McCoist spent 11 years on the show, with Parrott and later rugby icon Michael Dawson as his opposing team captains, and the legendary Sue Barker as presenter.
He left in 2007 after more than 360 episodes and was replaced by former cricketer Phil Tufnell. The programme first aired in 1968 and is the world's longest-running TV sports quiz.
