Loris Karius ‘must be cursed’ as deflected own goal costs Newcastle big time
Fans are adamant that Loris Karius must be cursed as his return to English football didn't exactly go to plan in the first half of the Carabao Cup final.
Newcastle fans' hearts broke as Manchester United scored their second goal to go 2-0 up at Wembley, but it was Karius who go the brunt of the flack shortly after a deflected Rashford shot looped over the falling German.
Fans couldn't help but point the finger at the former Liverpool and Frankfurt keeper as he filled in for suspended Nick Pope in the first cup final the Magpies have featured in almost 30 years.

As the travelling Toon army collectively groaned, United fans hit the roof in celebration, with fans at home taking to social media to berate the stand in keeper.

"Newcastle could have just used a player instead of Karius… Man is cursed," wrote @_Johnetus.
@lfc_shane23 said: "So dreadful from Karius, I feel so much for this guy, has to be the most cursed football career ever."
The inescapable curse jokes come five years after two Karius howlers and a stunning bicycle kick from Gareth Bale meant Liverpool lost the Champions League final to a dominant Real Madrid in Kyiv.
The then-starting keeper was blamed for the loss, with Jurgen Klopp claiming his fellow countryman was concussed during the final.
Now, despite not playing in England for years, Karius is unable to escape his past.
