Giovani Lo Celso is reportedly facing a race against time to be fit for the World Cup after suffering an injury at the weekend.
The Argentine midfielder was forced off after just 25 minutes, as Villarreal suffered a 1-0 defeat away at Athletic Bilbao on Sunday.
AS Sport have now reported that the 26-year-old, who is on loan from Tottenham is a major doubt for the World Cup due to a hamstring injury.

Lo Celso faces a race against time with Argentina’s first match on November 22
Villarreal are expected to carry out further tests in the coming days which will determine whether he will be fit in time for the start of the tournament.
Argentina kick off their campaign against Saudi Arabia on November 22 in Lusail.
Lo Celso is a key player for Argentina, with nine starts in eleven games, across 17 World Cup qualifiers.
Lo Celso is on loan from Tottenham after spending the second-half of last season at the club
He will be keen to prove his fitness ahead of the tournament, with Argentina up there as one of the favourites to win the tournament in Qatar.
Lo Celso is in his second season on-loan at Villarreal after struggling to make an impact at Tottenham.
He initially joined the club in January this year, before his loan was extended for this season.
Since making his international debut in 2017 in a friendly against Russia, he has gone on to make 41 caps for his country in which he has scored two goals.
He was also part of the squad that won the Copa America, starting in the 1-0 victory over Brazil in the final.
