Liverpool target Doucoure keen on move and Reds ‘could get star for below £60m’
Crystal Palace defensive midfielder Cheick Doucoure is understood to be keen on a move to Liverpool should the Reds formalise their interest. The Mali international was named the Eagles’ Player of the Year after an eye-catching debut season at Selhurst Park following his 2022 transfer from Lens.
Now Doucoure finds himself as one of the options on Liverpool’s transfer shortlist as they seek to replace Fabinho.
Yet Palace aren’t prepared to give the player up without a fight and they will demand a premium fee as they prepare to lose Michael Olise to Chelsea.
Doucoure has a long-term contract with the Eagles, therefore they are currently under no pressure to sell.
That said, The Independent are reporting that Doucoure is open to the prospect of a move to Anfield should the opportunity materialise.

The report also mentions that Liverpool’s interest is now starting to intensify as they are short of other options.
It’s also mentioned that Doucoure could potentially be available for under £60million which could prove to be a steal.
That said, it seems unlikely Palace would sell for a figure within that price region as they are now clinging onto their most-prized assets after being raided for Olise and Wilfried Zaha, who has joined Galatasaray on a free transfer.
Speaking at the back end of last season, Roy Hodgson made it clear he viewed Doucoure as an integral figure within his side.

Jurgen Klopp can fix Liverpool transfer crisis with shameless Man Utd hijack[COMMENT]
He said: “He has been very influential.
“He’s one of those players that plays in a position which is a bit of a fulcrum of the attacking midfield play and defending midfield play.
“His positional sense, his ability to read the game, his technical ability, and the fact that he gets around the field so well [makes him influential].
“I noticed he’s up there amongst people who’ve made the most interceptions, which is nice to see.”
Jurgen Klopp has already missed out on Moises Caicedo and Romeo Lavia this week and other targets are proving difficult to pursue.
Joao Palhinha is firmly admired but he is valued at £60m by Fulham and at 28, that could represent somewhat of a gamble.
Talks could be re-explored for Ryan Gravenberch of Bayern Munich who had attracted interest earlier in the window.
Andre of Fluminense is also rated by the Reds’ recruitment team but the Brazilian side do not have time to sign a replacement if they agree to sell him to Liverpool.
