Liverpool are reportedly interested in Netherlands international and PSV Eindhoven striker Donyell Malen. The 22-year-old forward is expected to cost in the region of £34million, as Liverpool look to strengthen their attacking options this summer.
Scoring 55 goals in 116 PSV games, the forward has had Europe’s elite starting to take notice.
Liverpool are looking to snap up the rising talent, according to Eindhovens Dagblad, who has raised his profile recently with a string of international appearances.
PSV Eindhoven boss Roger Schmidt told NOS: “That’s how it goes in football, especially at PSV, we lose one or two good players every year,
“It has been clear to some for some time that Donyell and Denzel are likely to leave. Actually, last summer.
“I also take it into account and if they do stay, that is great. But we have to prepare ourselves that we will have to play without both next season.”

Last season was Malen’s finest, scoring 27 times in 45 appearances. The Dutch international’s potential could be well nurtured by Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp, who is renowned for developing young players.
Liverpool already have Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino, and Diogo Jota as first choice forwards, all of whom would give Malen the benefits of experience.
If the transfer was to go ahead, you would be forgiven for wondering where in Klopp’s plans back-up striker Divock Origi would then fit.
It is expected an offer will be made in the coming week, and that offer may very well be accepted.

Liverpool will hope to pip Dortmund to the signing of Malen, to give themselves a greater chance of competing next season.
After an underwhelming title defence last season, with Sadio Mane himself declaring it his ‘worst season’, Klopp will look to bolster his side with a few signings.
Not normally known for being a huge spender in the transfer market, a signing such as Malen is textbook Klopp who buys young and relatively cheap, rather than £100m marquee signings.
Liverpool’s only signing so far is 22-year-old centre-back Ibrahima Konate for £36m. Back up for the returning Virgil van Djyk and Joe Gomez, who like Malen, could benefit greatly from their experience.
Liverpool have also been linked with their former striker Danny Ings, however Malen makes much better sense for several reasons.
Ings’ injuries at Liverpool saw him play 25 times in four years, he’s 28 and with the English tax will likely cost more, somehow.
Malen could have a great future at Anfield and would be a welcomed addition to Klopp’s squad.
